David Rhodes

About

For the last nine years David Rhodes has lived and worked in Berlin and New York, before then he was based in London. Recent solo exhibitions have been in Basel at Galerie Katherine Crone, 2012 and San Francisco, at Somewalls, 2013. This year he will participate in group exhibitions at Lamb & Lion, London, and JiM Contemporani, Barcelona. His paintings have excluded color more recently, and tend toward a linear construction using black and white. Paintings are in the collections of Bohuslans Museum, Sweden, V&A Museum and Simons and Simons, London.
He is a regular contributor to Artforum, The Brooklyn Rail, and Art Critical, and has written catalog essays for Museum Ludwig, Köln, and Michael Werner and Mary Boone, New York.
