Thomas Eller

About

Thomas Eller is an artist living and working in Berlin and New York City. He studied Fine Arts at Hochschule der Künste, Berlin from 1985 to his forced dismissal in 1987 and continued to study Sciences of Religion, Philosophy and Art History at Freie Universität Berlin until 1992. For five years he worked as research assistant at Science Center Berlin for Sociology (WZB). From 1990 until today he has been exhibiting extensively in galleries and museums in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
He received the following awards: Karl-Schmidt-Rottluff-Prize (1996), Villa-Romana-Prize (2000), Art Omi International Art Center (2002), Käthe-Kollwitz-Prize by Akademie der Künste Berlin (2006).
