Blixa Bargeld

Blixa Bargeld is a composer, author, actor, singer, musician, multi-instrumentalist, performer and lecturer in a number of artistic fields. He is best known for his studio work and tours with the groups Einstürzende Neubauten and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

From 1990 to 2002, Blixa Bargeld photographed each of the hotel bathrooms in which he spent at least one night. Each of these hotel bathrooms are documented in a series of 3 to 9 single photos. Each series of photographs are single editions and once sold will never be printed again. The first exhibition of the photographs took place on November 1st to December 11th, 1997 at Juliettes Literatursalon in Berlin Mitte. A catalogue was published by Juliettes Literatursalon.
