Anja Teske

Artist

Anja Teske was born in 1964 in Minden in Germany and lives and works in Berlin. During her exchanges studied at the Repin-Insitute in St. Petersburg she decided to move from painting to photography. Back in Germany she studied fine art with Heinrich Riebesehl and went to London to do a MA at the Slade School of Fine Arts. She has been rewarded several grants and scholarships as the Schloss Balmoral annual scholarship, The Art Prize for young artists of the federal State of Lower Saxony, The Jean Spencer Award in London, The Schloss Plüschow Scholarship, a grant of the Heitland Foundation, among others. Her works have been internationally exhibited in Berlin, Kiev, London, Paris, St. Petersburg, Vienna, Singapore and Barcelona. Her work, such as the series Music at the end of the century, Walk ahead, Farewell and To remember a monument, have been published in Photo News (Germany), Katalog (Denmark) and Camera Austria.
